Austin’s exceptional vehicle repair, customization and restoration
My grandfather started the family business of repairing automobiles back in the ’50s. My father continued the trade by opening his auto body shop in 1979 in our garage. My career in this industry started with a broom and a bucket when I was in elementary school. I continued to learn the trade after school and during the summers by prepping and painting cars. While attending Lamar University, I began assisting my father in the management of the business. This early exposure has given me a wealth of knowledge that I now use in my own business.
My wife and I realized Austin was the place for us to start our family and moved from Beaumont, Texas in 2004. I began working at Klein’s Sterling Auto Collision, a Porsche and BMW auto body repair facility. After managing this business for 3 years, I purchased it, dropped the Klein’s and continued my family legacy of owning and operation body shops. I knew I wanted to provide high quality of service to everyone – not just luxury car owners. We now repair, customize and restore all types of vehicles: automobiles, helicopters, motorcycles, bicycles and watercraft. We are working to be the most environmentally conscience shop in the Texas. We were one of the first body shops to use Glasurit water-based paint in Texas, the premier water based paint on the market, and continue to look for new ways to protect the environment while providing exceptional service.

How to handle insurance claims
It’s Your Car, It’s Your Choice–Don’t be steered into another accident by an insurance company. Did you know some insurance companies have ownership in some shops? Makes you wonder who the customer really is. Sterling Auto Collision does not participate in any of the insurance repair networks because of the concessions or stipulations in the contracts, which generally leads to a lower quality repair. We believe we have a responsibility to you, the vehicle owner, who is ultimately our customer, not the insurance company.
Insurance companies use scripts to steer their customers while trying to avoid breaking Texas Anti-Steering laws. State law does not allow insurance companies to direct or “steer” you to a particular shop. The insurance companies have created the following scripts to intimidate you into using the body shops they prefer, or they threaten that they will not pay the claim or they will resolve your claim more slowly.
These phrases are often heard from Insurance Companies when you want to bring your vehicle to Sterling Auto Collision or any shop that is not on their “Preferred List or Network”. We have also provided you with our response to their script.

“They are not one of our network shops. They are not on our list, so we can’t guarantee the repairs.”

“We are not on anyone’s list. We represent the vehicle owner as our primary customer–not the insurance company. We provide a lifetime guarantee on our repairs, so any additional guarantee is unnecessary.”

“If you use them, we can’t get an adjuster out for several days. If you take it to our network shop, we will have someone start on it right away.”
